SACRAMENTO COUNTY

Golden Harvest Parade and Festival:

The goal of the parade is to invite all communities of the Greater Sacramento area to celebrate PEACE AND HARMONY. The parade is from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm and begins and ends at 9th Street / Capital Mall. The festival is from 10:00 am – 4:30 pm and will be at the west side of the Capitol on 10th Street between L and N Streets.

Autumn Lantern Festival and Night Market:

This two-day event features local food vendors, activities, Silk Lantern display from Hoi An, performances, free lanterns for kids (with registration), and much more. You can now purchase the silk lanterns this year at one of the booths. Families and students can take the Sacramento Regional Transit Lightrail or Bus for a FREE ride to/from the event and get dropped off right at the festival grounds.

Geology Day:

Come on out to Geology Day at the Koobs Nature Area. We offer themed science and art activities for kids, and families can explore our 4.7 acre nature area. The Koobs Nature Area public open days are free to the community.

Join us for one of our most beloved community traditions! Elk Grove Dickens Street Faire:

The annual Dickens Street Faire promises your entire family a delightfully festive experience. Witness Santa’s dramatic rescue by our esteemed fire department. Wander through Old Town, discover local shops, relish live entertainment, explore crafts, vendor booths, and food trucks. The Old Town Plaza will be the center stage for entertainment, free kids’ activities, and professional photo opportunities with Santa. At 5:00 p.m., as the sun sets, stick around for Christmas carols and a story with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Please join us for the Christmas Tree Lighting at 6:00 p.m. Santa will flip the switch to illuminate the town’s Christmas tree on Walnut Street.

Hometown Holiday on Main:

Start the holiday season off with a magical night in downtown Placerville! The Placerville community gathers each year, filling Main Street with family, friends, and neighbors to share the magical moment when we kick off the Holiday Season with the Christmas tree’s lighting. Shops are open late, restaurants are ready to serve you, and entertainment will be on the street. It is a very sweet and simple tradition we hold dear. Come early, parking can be a challenge, but it is so worth it!

Chair Yoga:

Relax and unwind with Chair Yoga, a perfect way to de-stress and stretch out those muscles! Yoga is a fantastic way to build strength, flexibility, and balance. Learn breathing exercises and mindfulness techniques to improve relaxation, reduce stress, increase pain management, and sleep better. Classes are gentle and designed to be accessible for older adults and people with arthritis. We will explore a variety of chair options and props, so everyone can enjoy the practice of yoga.
