April Book Sale:
The Friends of Arden-Dimick Library are holding a two-day Community Book Sale. At our bag sale on Saturday, 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., $6 gets you a standard-sized grocery bag of books (larger bags are more). You’re encouraged to bring your own grocery bags. We also have DVDs and CDs if you prefer those.

Bonsai Show and Sale:
The American Bonsai Association, Sacramento’s 65th Annual Bonsai and Suiseki Sale returns to McKinley Park with a dazzling display of Bonsai and Japanese Viewing Stones (Suiseki). These beautiful trees have been nurtured by skilled and passionate bonsai practitioners, often for multiple generations. Immerse yourself in this ancient art, rich with history and culture. Beginers’ workshop on Sunday, will include a tree, pot, soil and instructions. $20. Email abasbonsaiclub@gmail.com to reserve a space. Demostrations each day at 1:30PM by Headliner, Carmen Leskoviansky, Curator of the University of Michigan’s Bonsai Collection and Advocate for increasing women’s involvement in bonsai. Daily benefit raffle will follow the demonstration and include each day’s demonstration tree.

Easter in the Park:
Bring the entire family for a community gathering. The event is free and open to all people. There will be a DJ playing music, an egg hunt, a jump house, face painting, balloon twisting, food trucks, games, giveaways and special guests.

Old Sacramento Spring Festival:
The Sacramento History Museum celebrates the season with a fun, free, and family-friendly Old Sacramento Spring Festival outside the Sacramento History Museum. Join in hourly dances around a 15-foot maypole, as well as traditional country dances to live music. In addition to dancing, festival attendees can enjoy historic living history demonstrations, hands-on arts-and-crafts stations, hobby-horse races, gold panning, face painting, lawn games, and more.

Yoomén: A Celebration of Spring:
The cultural event features Native American dancers, performers, and cultural demonstrators who showcase their exquisite skills working with natural materials to create baskets, jewelry, tools and more! Native-inspired art and game stations for children and guided tours of the museum and site will also be available, including tours of the site’s famous ancient petroglyphs.

Rocklin Civic Celebration:
This family-friendly event will showcase the work of city departments, offering interactive displays such as vehicles from the Police and Fire Departments and equipment from the Public Works Department. Earth Day Clean-Up:
Celebrate Earth Day and enhance one of Vallejo’s beautiful waterways! Come join us at Blue Rock Springs Creek for a cleanup throughout the creek corridor. Wear comfortable clothes, sturdy shoes, hat, sunscreen, and gloves. It’s a family-friendly event, and volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome.
